In recent years Chambers has seen a real growth in claims relating to wills, trusts and probate, and members of our team have developed a recognised specialism in this area.

Members of the team regularly advise and represent clients in relation to the whole spectrum of issues concerning wills, trusts and probate. Their work covers both contentious and non-contentious matters, including:

    • contentious probate claims;
    • the construction and rectification of wills and trusts;
    • the administration of estates and trusts;
    • claims against personal representatives and trustees;
    • claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975;
    • inheritance tax;
    • capital gains tax;
    • tax disputes and penalties.

Members of the team also have wide experience of Court of Protection work including disputes over lasting/enduring powers of attorney, deputies, statutory wills and welfare issues.
