Areas of Practice
Civil Fraud
Charles has significant experience in this area and is happy to undertake work in relation to suspicious or fraudulent insurance claims including: cases involving staged accidents; low velocity impact; bogus passengers; and exaggerated personal injury claims.
Personal Injury
Charles practises in all areas of personal injury law.
He regularly advises and appears in fast and multi track cases. He has particular experience of road traffic claims, employers’ and occupiers’ liability cases.
Charles has been instructed as a junior to Christopher Sharp QC in catastrophic injury and brain injury cases before the High Court, and in subsequent appeals.
Charles also appears in case management conferences, application hearings and costs hearings. He has acted in appeals, both drafting the necessary documentation and appearing at oral hearings. With significant experience of credit hire claims, he is regularly instructed in such cases.
Charles also acts in inquests. He has represented both families and public bodies, and has acted in jury inquests.
CFA instructions and tight deadlines are accepted wherever possible.
An actively involved officer in the Territorial Army, Charles has a good knowledge of the Armed Forces. He completed an operational tour of Afghanistan in 2010.
Clinical Negligence
Charles undertakes junior Clinical Negligence work, for both healthcare providers and patients.
