Areas of Practice
Christopher joined St John’s Chambers on 1st August 2006. His specialist areas are real property, landlord and tenant, equity and trusts, wills trusts and probate, construction, intellectual property, insolvency, contract and professional negligence.
Real Property
Christopher has a broad expertise in a variety of property related areas including:
- Easements: rights of way, rights to light and water rights
- Boundaries
- Mobile homes
- Restrictive covenants
- Mortgages
- Sale of land: disputed title, misrepresentation, conditional contracts
- Torts relating to land
Recent cases have included disputed ownership of an area of woodland, misrepresentation in the sale of property, appearances before the Adjudicator to H.M. Land Registry and the interference of an easement by untethered rotteweilers.

Wills Trusts and Probate
Christopher regularly advises in cases involving the division of assets between cohabitees, disputed wills and the administration of estates. In addition his practice includes disputes involving:

- Claims under Trusts of Land & Appointment of Trustees Act 1996
- Claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975

Construction
Christopher has experience in a variety of construction and engineering matters. He acts for both builders and property owners in disputes concerning either failure to pay or alleged defective work. Examples of his experience include:

- Mundic Block and pre-fabricated concrete construction in residential buildings
Intellectual Property
Christopher regularly advises in cases involving copyright, trade marks, passing-off and design rights.

Christopher acts for insolvency practitioners, creditors and insolvent companies/debtors in insolvency matters

- Bray (t/a the Building Company) v Bishop & Anor [2009] EWCA Civ 768 (19 June 2009) – a Court of Appeal case concerning the court’s approach where the parties have settled all issues save for costs
