Background
Prior to starting her career at the Bar, Sarah managed a team in a marketing agency, which has given her a good understanding of how SME’s work. After successfully completing her pupillage at St John’s she was taken on as a full member.
Areas of Practice
Sarah joined Chambers as a tenant in October 2008 following successful completion of pupillage. She has a general chancery and commercial practice.
Commercial and Insolvency
Sarah has acted on behalf of clients in matters involving:
- Commercial contracts, breach of contract, agency and guarantees
- Sale and supply of goods and services
- Partnership disputes
- Credit, including consumer credit and hire purchase
- Company and personal insolvency, including winding-up petitions and other Insolvency Act applications
Trusts, Probate and Inheritance
Sarah advises in cases involving:
- Claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975
- Claims under Trusts of Land & Appointment of Trustees Act 1996
- Contentious probate
- Construction of wills
She has given a seminar on the recent case of Baynes v Hedger [2009] EWCA Civ 374.
Property
Sarah regularly accepts instructions in disputes involving:
- Landlord and tenant, including possession claims
- Mortgage, including possession claims
- Easements and covenants
- Boundary disputes
- Co-ownership
- Professional negligence
