Kathryn elected to pursue a specialised practice in Children Act cases and has extensive experience in all aspects of public and private law work
Kathryn maintains a particular interest in care work and has wide experience of lengthy cases involving infant manslaughter, a spectrum of non-accidental injury allegations (including disputed obstetric injury) and parenting impaired by psychiatric, psychological and addictive disorders. Appearing in all tiers of Courts and receiving instructions to act for parents, Guardians, Local Authorities and the Official Solicitor. Kathryn has experience in care work involving Deaf parents and the appropriate use of BSL interpretation within a trial setting.
Kathryn regularly undertakes cases relating to injunctive relief and has particular experience in complex and serious committal work.
She has been a regular speaker at seminars over the years and has provided lecture services for the SFLA, the Law Society, Interdisciplinary Domestic Violence Forum as well as individual firms of solicitors. More generally, Kathryn often represents both the profession and Chambers at School and University Careers Seminars and she is an accredited trainer of Pupil Barristers on the Western Circuit Advocacy Programme.
