Areas of Practice
Originally from Bath, Patrick came to the Bar following a successful career as a television news reporter during which time he also provided media training for a range of blue chip UK companies and engaged in high level trade union representation both at ACAS and Westminster.
Patrick joined the Personal Injury practice group at St John’s Chambers after completing a pupillage at Crown Office Chambers in London.
Personal Injury
Patrick is regularly instructed in hearings on the small claims track and fast track. He also advises on liability and quantum and undertakes drafting work. He has successfully conducted and defended appeals in the High Court.
He specialises in all areas of personal injury law including:
- Employers’ Liability
- Occupiers’ Liability
- Highways Act cases
- Road traffic
- Credit hire
Patrick has a particular interest and a growing practice in occupational illness litigation.
He appears at Inquests, case management conferences, application hearings, costs hearings and CRU appeals.
He accepts instructions on a CFA basis and is happy to work to tight deadlines.
Patrick delivers regular lectures for solicitors and legal executives.
Civil Fraud
Patrick is happy to act for Insurance companies in personal injury claims where fraud is an issue.
His extensive experience in PI, combined with his ability to marshal large amounts of detailed evidence and his lively and effective cross-examination makes him a strong candidate for all aspects of civil fraud work.
