Areas of Practice
Originally from Bath, Patrick came to the Bar following a successful career as a television news reporter during which time he also provided media training for a range of blue chip UK companies and engaged in high level trade union representation both at ACAS and Westminster. He has a national practice with a particular focus on the South West and South Wales.
Personal Injury
Patrick is regularly instructed in hearings on the Fast and Multi track. He also advises on liability and quantum and undertakes drafting work including complicated Schedules and Counter Schedules. He has successfully conducted and defended appeals in the High Court.
He specialises in all areas of personal injury law including:

- Highways Act cases
- Animals Act cases
- Holiday claims
- Road traffic
- Product liability and consumer protection
- Credit hire
Patrick has a particular interest in occupational illness litigation including Noise Induced Hearing Loss, HAVS, RSI, stress and asbestos-related claims.
He appears at Inquests, case management conferences, application hearings, costs hearings and CRU appeals.
Patrick undertakes work on behalf of NHS Trusts and Local Authorities.
He accepts instructions on a CFA basis and is happy to work to tight deadlines.
Patrick delivers regular lectures for solicitors and legal executives.
Civil Fraud
Patrick is happy to act for Insurance companies in personal injury claims where fraud is an issue.
His extensive experience in PI, combined with his ability to marshal large amounts of detailed evidence and his lively and effective cross-examination makes him a strong candidate for all aspects of civil fraud work.
Interests
Running (10k and half-marathon), mountain walking, scuba diving, music and travel
