Background
Charles joined the Personal Injury Practice Group in October 2009 after successful completion of his pupillage with St John’s Chambers. Prior to his pupillage Charles worked as an Advocate with Legal Practice Clerks for a year, and thus has extended experience of advocacy in the county courts, often on the receipt of last-minute instructions. He also worked for the UWESU Advice Clinic, assisting students with legal matters.
Charles is an actively involved officer in the Territorial Army, and thus has a good knowledge of the Armed Forces. He has experience of working on both sides of claims made against the MoD.
Areas of Practice
Personal Injury
Charles practises in all areas of personal injury law, in both an advisory and representative capacity. He has particular experience of road traffic and credit hire claims, as well as employers’ and occupiers’ liability cases. CFA instructions and tight deadlines are accepted where possible.
Charles also appears in case management conferences, application hearings and costs hearings. He has experience of appeals to circuit judges.
Employment
Charles is also a member of the Employment Practice Group. He has an expanding employment law practice and acts for both claimants and respondents.
Interests
Travel, football, squash, SCUBA diving.
