Areas of Practice
Personal Injury
Anna is a specialist personal injury practitioner. She practises in all areas of personal injury law and has additional interest and experience in credit hire, costs and insurance law.
She regularly appears on behalf of Claimants and Defendants in fast and multi-track matters in employers’ liability, public liability (including occupiers’ liability) and road traffic claims. She is on the approved panel for several Local Authorities and represents them in highway, employer and occupier claims.
Anna is also delighted to have been recently appointed by the Attorney General to serve as Junior Counsel to the Crown. This is a five year appointment. She will advise and act for the Government in personal injury matters.
Anna regularly appears at Inquests and has particular experience in inquests where Article 2 is engaged. She regularly acts for Prisons, and also appears in inquests following deaths at work and fatal road traffic accidents. She also acts in CICA hearings and CRU appeals. She deals with costs on a frequent basis and appears at appeals and assessment hearings on behalf of both Claimants and Defendants.
She is happy to accept appropriate instructions on a CFA basis.
Civil Fraud
Anna acts for Insurance companies in personal injury claims where fraud is suspected. She has expertise in staged accidents, fraud rings, phantom passenger claims, policies obtained fraudulently (eg: where the Defendant does not exist) and exaggerated claims.
Anna’s eye for detail, ability to examine and digest large volumes of evidence and robust cross examination style means she is well suited to this area of work. She has an up to date knowledge of the issues facing the Insurance Industry in these areas and is involved in defending some of the current suspected RTA fraud rings in the north of England.
