Edward is instructed in all areas of family law, with a particular focus on disputes with an international dimension. To date, he has appeared in the following cases:
- International Child Abduction (Hague Conventions and Inherent Jurisdiction)
- Leaves to permanently and temporarily remove from the jurisdiction
- Forced marriage
- International Adoption
- International Child Maintenance
- Forum disputes
- Public and Private Law Children
- Part III Children Act 1989 Judicial Review cases and Local Authority obligations towards children and children transitioning to adulthood.
He has been instructed as an expert witness for overseas courts in family cases with an international dimension.
Edward’s practice incorporates family law, court of protection, and community care, with particular focus on cases with an international element.
Before coming to the Bar, Edward trained as a solicitor in the London and Prague offices of Allen & Overy, spent a year in the Court of Appeal as Judicial Assistant to the Rt. Hon. Lord Justice Lloyd and a further year as Legal Adviser to the Head of International Family Justice for England and Wales, the Rt. Hon. Justice Thorpe.
Edward is the General Editor of the International Family Law Journal.
Edward was named Young Family Law Barrister of the Year at the 2015 Family Law Awards.
