Solicitors

St John’s Chambers is dedicated to providing a high-quality legal service to all solicitors.

Our barristers work with the solicitor as a team in the interest of the client and every case is thoroughly prepared.

The changing legal market place has encouraged a closer working relationship between solicitor and barrister. St John’s Chambers have embraced this and developed inventive marketing and business development with Solicitors, which include:-

  • Joint seminars and conferences
  • Joint tendering
  • Outsourcing
  • Secondment
  • Pupil/Trainee placements
  • Public Access referrals

Instructions are formed by either an established relationship with a barrister, recommendation by a client, or following discussion with one of the clerks about who would be best placed to work on a matter. St John’s has been commended by solicitors for suggesting the right people for the level of work and provide an excellent service.

Communication

We are committed to meeting our client’s requirements, and members will work closely with the solicitor and their client to prepare a strong case, keeping you informed at every stage.

Continuing Relationships

Our Chief Executive and Practice Group Managers carry out regular visits with solicitors to ensure we understand the growing needs and expectations of our clients as well as discussing joint future marketing activities and to ensure that the services we provide are up to the standard we set.

Professional Development

St John’s regularly host CPD accredited seminars / conferences in Chambers or outside venues to suit. Our members also deliver CPD accredited in-house (tailor-made) training seminars to solicitor firms throughout the South West.  Our seminars provide up to date, interesting and relevant topics and cover a wide range of legal disciplines.

We also work with solicitors to develop their relationships with their clients through the joint presentation of seminars and workshops.

Clerks

Our friendly and approachable team of experienced clerks can discuss your specific requirements and suggest the most suitable barrister for your specific needs. They are open and honest about the availability and suitability of counsel.

The clerks also welcome the opportunity to discuss fees with you and quote for any item of work beforehand.
