Wills & Probate

Members of this team regularly advise and represent clients in relation to the whole spectrum of issues concerning wills, probate and the administration of estates. Their work covers both contentious and non-contentious matters, and includes contentious probate claims; the construction of wills; the administration of estates; claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975; will trusts; lasting powers of attorney; and Inheritance Tax issues.

On the 1 October 2007, new legislation came into force creating Lasting Powers of Attorney, designed to replace their more familiar predecessor, Enduring Powers of Attorney. Members are happy to advise and also provide seminars and in-house training on this and other Hot Topics.
