Emma was instructed by BLM Solicitors to represent a prison at an article 2 inquest, into a man who took his own life. Issues concerned failure by staff to monitor the deceased for some hours before he died, despite a safeguarding process for monitoring being in place, and an examination of the provisions for safer custody nationally and locally.
