Dorcas is a pupil within our leading Personal Injury & Clinical Negligence Practice Group, under the supervision of Julian Horne.

Dorcas read Law at the University of Edinburgh before completing an LLM in International Law at University College London, graduating with distinction in both degrees. She subsequently completed the Bar Vocational Studies course at City Law School, achieving a Merit. During her legal studies, she was awarded several scholarships from Gray’s Inn, including the Dame Joyanne Bracewell GDL Scholarship and the Venetia Stephenson Bar Course Scholarship.

Before commencing pupillage, Dorcas gained a broad range of legal experience. She worked as a Legal Assistant at the Law Society of England and Wales, as an in-house Paralegal for a professional representative body in connection with the COVID-19 Inquiry, and completed an internship at the UK Supreme Court. Most recently, she served as a Judicial Assistant at the High Court.

During her studies, Dorcas represented Gray’s Inn in the 2024 Jessup Moot Competition, reaching the national quarter-finals. She has undertaken multiple mini-pupillages and marshalling placements, and has won several mooting competitions at both Edinburgh Law School and during her Bar studies, reflecting her strong advocacy and analytical skills.

Hobbies and interests

Outside of law, Dorcas enjoys writing poetry, singing in a gospel choir, and going to the gym.
