St John’s Chambers is pleased to announce that were have been awarded by the Bristol Law Society ‘Chambers of the Year 2025’.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our members and staff for their dedication and hard work.

As well as our stand-out legal expertise, members and staff have been involved in the following initiatives to help contribute to the wider local society including:

  • Raised £650 for Advocate at out Divorce & Finacnial Remedy conferene in June
  • Judged a moot to raise funds for the National Community Law Project
  • Raised £1,000 for Headway Bristol at our Catastrophic Injury Confernece
  • Involved with Bar Pro Bono organisation, Advocate, and several of our barristers are case reviewers
  • Representing the family of a baby boy at the inquest through Pro Bono
  • Sarah Phillimore is on the Bar Council Disability Panel
  • Sponsored Resolution (Bristol and Somerset) events

We have also been committed to celebrating and advancing equality, diversity and wellbeing.

  • First placement from 10,000 Black Interns. They worked with us for a week during which we provided a guaranteed living wage.
  • As part of ‘BarNone’ we offered at least 50% of our mini pupillages to candidates from under-represented backgrounds.
  • Offered one-on-one mentoring to students in search of pupillage.
