Liberty Crawford is a specialist family law practitioner, with a busy practice involving both public and private children law, and applications under Part IV a Family Law Act 1996.

Liberty accepts instructions to act on behalf of parents, family members and children (through their Guardians) in private proceedings, and conducts a variety of hearing from first hearings to final hearings. Liberty regularly represents parties in cases requiring Fact-Finding Findings where allegations of serious abuse (physical, emotional/psychological, sexual, financial abuse and coercive and controlling behaviour) towards parents and children have been made.

Liberty represents Local Authorities, parents, and children (through their Guardians) and intervenors at all stages of public law cases. She has dealt with issues such as neglect, domestic abuse, non-accidental injury, fictitious illness, separation, local authority placements and threshold.

Liberty is a calm and confident advocate known for her fierce representation of her clients and her robust and succinct advocacy. She has built a strong reputation for her attention to detail and thorough preparation. Liberty is sensitive to the needs of her client’s she represents and has been praised for her ability to manage their emotions and expectations. Liberty has represented a wide variety of clients, to including those with additional needs who require additional support in hearings. Liberty joins St John’s Chambers from Magdalen Chambers.
