Abigail Bond was instructed on behalf of the grandmother (intervening) in care proceedings in the High Court involving allegations of inflicted injury to a 6-week old baby.
Expert evidence was heard from a clinical psychologist; consultant paediatrician; consultant paediatric ophthalmologist; consultant radiologist; and consultant paediatric neurosurgeon. The local authority failed to obtain its findings and the application under s.31 of the Children Act 1989 was dismissed.
