
Before commencing pupillage, Annabel enjoyed a long and successful career in education. She taught across the full range of primary age groups, from Nursery through to Year 6, and most recently delivered A Level Law teaching.
Annabel has extensive experience supporting children with special educational needs, having served as SENCO in multiple primary schools. She also held the position of Deputy Headteacher in a large primary school, a role which carried significant safeguarding responsibilities.
During her legal studies, Annabel was a Student Legal Advisor at the University of Bristol Law Clinic, where she was awarded Best Post-Graduate Student (2021–2022). In this role, she represented clients at Employment Tribunal hearings, provided advice across a range of areas including contract, family, housing, and employment law, and worked closely with external professionals on sensitive and complex cases. Annabel also utilised her Spanish language skills to assist both clients and colleagues. As part of her Law Clinic work, Annabel also accompanied unrepresented parties to family court hearings as a McKenzie Friend.
Hobbies and interests
Annabel has a long-standing passion for cycling, which began in childhood, and for Latin dance, which she took up while at university. She is also a keen collector of mid-century artworks, particularly pieces by members of the Colchester Art Society.
In her spare time, Annabel enjoys walking in the mountains around her family home in the Serra de Tramuntana, in the north of Mallorca. She is learning to speak Catalan, and speaks Spanish and Portuguese fluently. Annabel also plays the piano.
