Daniel has an established chancery practice – covering the traditional areas of probate, property and trusts – appearing regularly in the High Court, County Court and Property Tribunals.

As part of his probate practice, Daniel frequently advises on and appears as advocate in contentious probate litigation concerning will challenges and claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975. He also acts for beneficiaries and personal representatives in disputes regarding the administration of estates, dealing with applications for the removal of executors or Beddoe applications, for example.

Daniel’s property practice is wide ranging, encompassing commercial, residential and agricultural property. He regularly advises on the enforceability of easements and covenants, as well as acting in nuisance disputes. Daniel has experience of claims to beneficial interests in property, whether by proprietary estoppel, constructive trusts, or otherwise under the Trusts of Land and Appointment of Trustees Act 1996. Daniel recently acted in the case of Scott v Scott [2025] EWHC 2796 (Ch) concerning issues of proprietary estoppel, agricultural tenancies and the validity of wills.

Landlord and tenant work is also a staple for Daniel, whether that be protected business tenancies under the Landlord and Tenant Act 1954, residential or agricultural tenancies.

Daniel is a qualified mediator and regularly acts as mediator in property, probate and trusts disputes.
