Ben represented the Claimant in this £1m+ employers’ liability claim following a manual handling accident, which successfully settled at a JSM shortly before trial.

The injury, a divarication of the stomach muscles, was very common among pregnant women but almost unheard of in the literature following accidental trauma. Causation was complicated by the fact that the Claimant’s symptoms deteriorated suddenly and catastrophically many months after the initial injury, which medical experts could only account by way of gradual strain to overworked surrounding muscles and psychological overlay.
