St John’s Chambers would like to congratulate Sophie Howard in successfully completing her specialist third six pupillage under the supervision of Jimmy Barber.

Sophie (Call 2016) joins our market-leading Personal Injury, Clinical Negligence and Inquest teams. Having successfully completed a common law pupillage at 5 Pump Court, Sophie then made the move to St John’s Chambers to specialise in her chosen fields. Previously, Sophie had worked as an investigator with the Nursing and Midwifery Council and as a paralegal with the Infected Blood Inquiry. She was also a claims handler and a paralegal in professional indemnity and insurance litigation at a leading international law firm.

Sophie acts for claimants and defendants in a variety of personal injury cases including RTA claims, employer’s liability, occupier’s liability, and credit hire. Sophie is regularly instructed in fast-track trials, interlocutory hearings, approval hearings, MOJ stage 3’s and small claims trials. She also advises in writing for both defendants and claimants and is happy to consider instructions on a CFA. Read more here.

We are all delighted to welcome Sophie to the team on the successful completion of her probationary tenancy. She impressed throughout with her excellent legal skills, diligent attitude and sound judgement, and I have no doubts that she will quickly build a flourishing practice.”
