Sophie joins our Personal Injury, Clinical Negligence and Inquest teams as a Third Six Pupil.

Sophie has recently moved to Bristol from London, where she completed a common law pupillage with 5 Pump Court Chambers, gaining experience in civil, family, and criminal cases.

Before starting her pupillage, Sophie was a paralegal in insurance litigation at a leading international law firm in London. Sophie worked closely with fee earners acting on behalf of accountants, solicitors, brokers, construction professionals and their insurers in the defence of professional negligence claims. During the Covid-19 pandemic, Sophie was involved in advising insurers in the contingency market (event cancellation and non-appearance insurance) on coverage issues and assisted in the business interruption litigation arising from the lockdowns.

Previously, Sophie worked as a paralegal for The Infected Blood Inquiry and as an investigator for the Nursing and Midwifery Council. While studying the BPTC part-time at UWE, Bristol, Sophie worked as a senior claims handler in professional indemnity and construction claims, completing a secondment with an insurer client in London.

Sophie has also spent time living abroad, in France and the Netherlands where she completed an internship at the International Criminal Court in the Hague.

Sophie is excited to be back in the South West and is looking forward to developing a specialist practice in areas that will allow her to build on her legal experience to date.
