This joint seminar organised by STEP & St John’s Chambers Wills & Trusts team, sponsored by Title Research, is aimed at practitioners involved in contentious probate work.

Topics:

  • Defending and settling 1975 Act claims – some lessons from the coalface
Alex Troup KC will draw on his experiences and the latest caselaw to offer some practical tips for defending and settling claims made under the Inheritance (Provisions for Family and Dependants) Act 1975.
  • A view from the bench: A few words on helping the judge and blunder avoidance
HHJ Blohm KC will talk about the blunders to beware and approaches to adopt in typical trusts and estate applications before the local courts. This will be his personal view and he offers no guarantees that other judges will be similarly swayed.
