St John’s Chambers firmly believe in business giving back to the community and support local charities by hosting fundraising events and seminars. As a result we have raised significant funds for national and local UK charities.

2023 fundraising included:

  • A clinical negligence conference which focused on obstetrics raised £1,500 for Bliss, supporting parents and families of premature or sick babies.
  • A catastrophic injury conference on 9th November which raised £1,500 for Headway, Bristol.
  • Organised a bake sale in aid of World Down Syndrome Day which raised £96
  • Sarah Sands is running the London Marathon and has raised over £1,200 so far for The Children’s Society 

2022 fundraising included:

  • A charity golf day on 28th September at the Bristol Golf Club, raising a fantastic sum of £3,000 for Action Against Medical Accidents (AvMA) who celebrated their 40th anniversary last year.
  • A catastrophic injury conference on 19th October which raised £2,500 for the Backup Charity.
  • A charity dinner on Thursday, 26th May at the Bristol Harbour Hotel, raising  a fantastic sum of £5,700 for Action Against Medical Accidents (AvMA)
  • Members and staff walking, running and cycling the equivalent distance of St John’s Chambers Bristol office to Mariinskyi Palace (the official residence of the Ukrainian President) in the centre of Kyiv, and raising £6,258 for the Ukraine Appeal

 

In addition, Barristers and members of St John’s staff continue to engage with other community initiatives such as the 10k Bristol Business Challenge, Taunton Dragon Boat Race and London Marathon.
