In addition to his significant commercial mediation experience (above), Adam has also undertaken extensive pro bono mediation work. He dedicated countless hours over a number of years to mediating community disputes for the local Bristol charity Resolve West – formerly Bristol Mediation.

Adam’s years of pro bono experience greatly assisted his development as a mediator, in respect of the requisite talking and listening skills, and he considers that it brings an extra dimension to his approach to mediations.

Adam prides himself on being able to see difficult disputes from all the relevant angles and considers that he can always find a way to analyse a case, or to assist the parties (and their lawyers), in a manner which moves all sides closer to settlement.

More generally, he thoroughly enjoys his mediation work, and takes a calm, practical, and solutions-focused approach to the disputes which he mediates.

Adam has a high success rate as a litigation mediator which he puts down to the breadth of his relevant experiences, most notably his years of commercial and community mediation work, and over a decade in practice at the Bar.

Client feedback from his mediations includes the following:

  •  “He made an anxious client feel at ease.”
  • “Very professional” with a “client-centric approach.”
  • “Completely informed as to the problems and explained everything very clearly.”
  • “Adam’s kind and sensitive approach was fantastic. He successfully navigated the parties to reach an amicable conclusion despite the odds being stacked against him. I would definitely utilise Adam’s services in the future.”
  • “I don’t think he could have been more helpful.”

Adam has given numerous talks on the topic of mediation (and remote mediation) and is always willing to receive inquiries or questions about the potential suitability of a case for mediation, whether in person or held remotely. He offers a variety of options regarding the format for mediation – and is also able to host cost-effective half-day mediations in appropriate cases which lend themselves to that more time efficient format.
