Chelsea has experience in representing clients at all stages of proceedings pursuant to Section 8 of the Children Act 1989, including contact and residence disputes and applications for Prohibited Steps Orders and Specific Issue Orders.

Chelsea is regularly instructed on matters from FHDRA to Final Hearing and represents applicants, respondents and 16.4 Guardians. Chelsea’s cases often involve complex issues such as allegations of domestic abuse, sexual abuse, mental and physical health issues and substance misuse.

Chelsea’s recent cases have involved:

  • Implacable hostility and parental alienation;
  • Internal relocation;
  • Change of residence;
  • School/education disputes;
  • An overlap between public and private law, including Section 37 reports and the making of ICOs and ISOs;
  • Family Assistance Orders; and
  • Cognitive and capacity issues.

    Outside of work, Chelsea enjoys playing women’s rugby and touch rugby. She is also a keen theatre-goer and regularly writes reviews for theatre shows across Bristol. Chelsea is passionate about getting involved in the community. She is a leader for her local Brownies unit and helps to run a large women’s network which focuses on connecting likeminded women through a wealth of activities, talks and clubs.
