Annie is a specialist chancery barrister and a trained mediator.
Annie’s practice focuses predominantly on wills and trusts and property disputes. Accordingly, Annie has considerable experience of a broad range work in both areas including, for example, trusts of land; proprietary estoppel claims; will construction and rectification; will validity challenges; claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975; restrictive covenants; easements; boundary disputes; and agricultural, commercial and residential tenancies. In addition, Annie has experience of less frequently encountered matters, such as settled land; Rent Act 1977 tenancies; and applications under the Non-Contentious Probate Rules 1987.
While Annie’s practice focuses on wills and trusts and property disputes, Annie’s experience extends across the breadth of commercial and chancery work, especially where this intersects with her particular specialisms. For example, Annie undertakes professional negligence work, including in respect of claims against solicitors, especially in the contexts of conveyancing and of claims by disappointed beneficiaries. Similarly, Annie is familiar with insolvency issues, including, for instance, as they arise in the context of orders for sale.
Annie is also an ADR Group Accredited Civil and Commercial Mediator and is keen to build this element of her practice, as well as to continue attending mediations as a representative.
