Natasha is ranked as a leading junior in chancery by the Legal 500 and Chambers UK.  She has dealt with a wide range of proprietary estoppel matters including the typical disputes over real property (residential, commercial and agricultural) as well as more complex disputes concerning other types of property such as company shares, business interests and pensions.

Natasha also wrote an article for the Trusts and Estates Law & Tax Journal concerning the Supreme Court decision in Guest v Guest [2022] UKSC 27.

Some examples of Natasha’s experience are:

  • A dispute concerning beneficial interests in a property where the legal owner was a Guernsey registered company and the alleged beneficial owners had been subjected to numerous bankruptcies.
  • A proprietary estoppel claim concerning beneficial interests in two properties listed for a 6 day trial.
  • A proprietary estoppel claim based on an express promise by a deceased promisor, and alternatively acquiescence, in relation to a farm containing a property which was subject to an agricultural tie.
  • A proprietary estoppel claim in respect of a 200 year old cottage, agricultural outbuildings and a barn.
  • Advising in respect of a claim by an intervener in divorce and financial remedy proceedings who claimed to be a beneficial owner in businesses by way of proprietary estoppel and/or constructive trust.
  • Acting for the trustee in bankruptcy in proceedings before the First-tier Tribunal (Property Chamber), Land Registration Division. An application had been made to register a restriction against a property shortly prior to its sale with the bankrupt being adjudged bankrupt after the sale. Neither the bankrupt nor the purchaser were aware of the sale. Applicant claimed a beneficial interest arising out of a resulting or constructive trust or proprietary estoppel.
  • A proprietary estoppel, constructive trust and resulting trust claim where both proprietors had died resulting in two warring estates.
  • Appearing in Sollis v Leyshon & Leyshon [2018] EWHC 2853 (Ch) – complex trial concerning breach of trust, duress, proprietary estoppel, resulting trusts, unconscionability, undue influence and unjust enrichment.

    Natasha marshalled at the Court of Appeal Civil Division and in the Chancery Division of Bristol District Registry. Prior to coming to the bar, she represented clients at hundreds of hearings as a County Court Advocate and worked as a paralegal in a law firm managing her own caseload.
